Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Ideal Dental. As a key member of our dental practice, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional oral care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, including scaling, cleaning, and polishing teeth, to ensure optimal oral health.
  • Conduct comprehensive oral cancer screenings and diagnostic tests to identify and detect any abnormalities or diseases.
  • Deliver personalized patient education on proper oral hygiene techniques, including toothbrushing, flossing, and other effective preventive measures.
  • Provide thorough patient assessments, including taking medical and dental histories, recording vital signs, and evaluating gum and supporting tissue health.
  • Administer local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, or other medications as required for pain management during specific dental procedures.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and interpret them accurately for diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including crown and bridge placements, fillings, and extractions, by providing suction, maintaining a clear field of vision, and implementing appropriate isolation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in community outreach programs or schools to promote oral health awareness and provide oral health screenings and prophylactic services.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and sterile environment, ensuring patient and staff safety.
  • Stay updated on current trends and advancements in dental hygiene techniques, technologies, and regulations through continuing education courses and seminars.

Requirements:

  • Valid state license as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) along with current CPR certification.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist, with a thorough understanding of oral disease prevention and hygiene practices.
  • Proficient in using dental software and digital radiography systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, demonstrating empathy and respect.
  • Strong attention to detail, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, based on patient needs and practice requirements.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations, ensuring compliance with all guidelines.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuing education to enhance clinical skills.
