Job Summary

Kern Medical is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team on a per diem shift basis. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and services, including evaluation, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment planning, individual therapy, and family/patient education and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine and diagnose communicative deficits and equipment needs.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment programs based on initial evaluations and containing achievable functional goals.
  • Therapy and Education: Provide individual and group therapy sessions, instruct ancillary staff in appropriate procedures, and supervise as needed.
  • Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with nursing staff, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and services.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Current licensure as a Speech Pathologist issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
  • Certifications and Training: Possession of American Heart Association Responder or Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card and RQI Responder certification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Current principles, methods, techniques, equipment, and materials used in speech therapy; possible reactions of and hazards to patients during treatment; and anatomy and physiology related to treatment and physiological problems of persons with disabling conditions.
