Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the development of advanced materials and manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with our cross-functional team to design and develop innovative equipment solutions that enable the processing of new materials and manufacturing methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to develop equipment specifications and drive acceptance tests with clear documentation.
  • Design equipment modules and components to improve current equipment and enable the processing of new materials and manufacturing methods.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop and improve equipment to bring innovative cell manufacturing processes from proof of concept to high-volume production.
  • Identify equipment issues, design solutions, and implement them to improve equipment effectiveness, manufacturing process capability, and reliability.
  • Conduct equipment DFMEA, identify top risks, and mitigate them early on to develop reliable and robust manufacturing equipment.
  • Manage external equipment suppliers from initial proof of principle equipment development through SATs in high-volume production.
  • Train operators and associates and create detailed SOPs.
Requirements
  • BS with a minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design of equipment parts/automation using Solidworks or similar CAD software.
  • Proficient in GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience in new equipment installations and manufacturing line startups.
  • Proven record of developing project plans and solutions for problems outside of core expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and integrating various sensors and actuators.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical control systems and PLCs.
Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is between $128,000 and $192,400. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including location, relevant prior experience, and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

This position is eligible for tier-based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO, and sick time, 401K, and employee relocation plan (if applicable).
