Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Part-Time Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at USPI. This position requires working on Tuesdays and most likely one other day (Wednesday or Thursday) each week. Typical hours are from 6 am - 5 pm, although this may vary.

Job Summary:

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the OR. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and effective surgical environment. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, including sterilization and setting up instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the OR.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and effective surgical environment.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, including sterilization and setting up instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and post-operative care.
Requirements:
  • Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery setting.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Neurosurgical experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
