Critical Facilities Technician Job Description

ABM Industries is seeking a skilled Critical Facilities Technician to join our team. As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of mission critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform rounds and readings to log the status of technical and other equipment, trending results, and searching for discrepancies or abnormalities.
  • Understand the function, purpose, nominal operating parameters, and how to operate/isolate electrical and mechanical components, including UPS, generator, batteries, transfer switches, air conditioning/handling units, controls monitoring systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Read and interpret wiring/technical diagrams, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, job specifications, and MOP/SOP/EOPs.
  • Use hand tools, test equipment, and perform basic operations to perform MOP/SOP/EOPs, including installing, troubleshooting, and repairing per documentation and established safety guidelines.
  • Hold/obtain knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory, government regulations, etc.

Requirements:

  • Technical education or equivalent 3+ years' experience in related environments, required.
  • Eligible for a security clearance, in many but NOT all cases.
  • Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing, lift or move objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
