Job Title: Theatre Technician

The City of Hermosa Beach is seeking a skilled Theatre Technician to join our Community Resources Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring the technical operations of the Hermosa Beach Community Theatre and 2nd Story Theatre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the planning and execution of technical operations for events and performances.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of lighting equipment, including LED, moving, and non-moving fixtures.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Theatre Technician to ensure smooth technical operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, staff, and other stakeholders to determine technical and artistic requirements for events and performances.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections of lighting equipment and notify the Lead Theatre Technician of any issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in light operations of a performing arts facility.
  • Technical course(s) in light operations or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet with customers, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
