Job Overview

TLS Management Inc, a federal contracting organization specializing in JCI Building Automation Systems (BAS), is seeking multiple BAS Technicians/Applications Specialists. Positions are available in various healthcare facilities and may require travel to different job sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in programming and troubleshooting with HVAC Controls products from brands such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Delta, Distech, Carrier, ALC, and Andover.
  • Familiarity with BAS communication protocols, including BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, and LON.
  • Ensure compliance with all TLS and customer safety standards, providing safety leadership and guidance to fellow technicians and subcontractors.
  • Assist the Service Manager or Customer Service Agents in identifying and scheduling qualified personnel for repairs or installations.
  • Engage in self-directed learning to enhance and maintain technical skills.
  • Complete all required training and certifications in a timely manner.
  • Install and inspect equipment to adhere to contract specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Manage assigned Electronic Systems service calls, estimating field labor hours accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural, electrical, and mechanical documents, including project plans and equipment manuals.
  • Pass a criminal background check, pre and post-employment drug screenings, and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean DMV record.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation and servicing of Direct Digital Controls (DDC) BAS systems, with knowledge of servers and various operating systems.
  • Proficient in using personal computers (Windows 10, Server 2016) and MS Office software, along with a working knowledge of Local Area Networks (LAN).
  • Effective and professional communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to work overtime or travel as necessary.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including relays, motor contactors, transformers, DCV, and ACV circuits.
  • Capable of using hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment like multi-meters and digital analyzers.
  • Physical ability to move equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds and perform work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor during service emergencies.
  • Possess one or more of the following certifications: Certified JCI Metasys Technician or Certified Niagara Technician.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Electronics or HVAC technical coursework.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC.
  • Knowledge of Niagara programming, Metasys, and/or Johnson CCT programming applications is advantageous.

Compensation: $40-55 Hourly Wage
