Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Project Scientist to join our Trinidad office, specializing in marine environmental projects. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic, applied science environments and are passionate about contributing to impactful research.

The Project Scientist will be responsible for delivering high-quality, customized services to a diverse range of clients, including governmental bodies and private sector organizations. Adherence to rigorous standards of science, safety, and professionalism is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the integrity and precision of scientific components within projects.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead field sampling initiatives in various locations.
  • Contribute to the design, analysis, and reporting stages of projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and project documentation.
  • Serve as Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager for multiple projects.
  • Conduct technical reviews of reports and other deliverables.
  • Ensure personal and team safety during all operations.
  • Participate in safety training and meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Comply with company quality management standards.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years of direct experience in aquatic field surveys.
  • A Master’s degree in life sciences, such as biology, biological oceanography, or environmental chemistry.
  • Experience in drafting and analyzing Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Proven track record in leading field-based projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience with marine sampling and vessel operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specialization in marine environments.
  • Experience with marine survey equipment.
  • Project management skills.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques.
  • Training in safety and environmental hazards.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data integration.
