The Clinical Nurse Specialist is a vital role within Elevance Health, focusing on the administration of prescribed therapies in a supportive healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Executing nursing duties in accordance with the facility's established policies and procedures, as well as adhering to INS Standards of practice.
- Administering prescribed therapies in alignment with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Completing the patient admission process as directed by the Center Director.
- Conducting thorough physical assessments for each patient as necessary, particularly for new consultations.
- Collaborating with the Nurse Practitioner on duty for comprehensive physical evaluations when required.
- Documenting all relevant patient information accurately in the medical records.
- Reporting significant changes or observations to the Center Director and ensuring follow-up on identified issues.
- Assessing patient responses to therapies and documenting findings in the medical record.
- Providing education to patients and their families regarding the therapy plan.
- Ensuring that all medication orders are complete, appropriate, and current prior to treatment.
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) with a minimum of two years of clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
- Multi-state licensure is necessary for services provided across state lines.
- Completion of a Tuberculosis test and Hepatitis B vaccination or signed waiver is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience with intravenous therapies is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
