Maintenance Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at WestRock. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our automated machinery and robotics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain automated machinery and robotics
  • Execute smaller projects for continuous improvement and upgrades
  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations
  • Report any unsafe conditions or hazards immediately
  • Assist in other areas of the plant as needed
  • Coordinate and direct production workflow
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to production and quality
  • Implement software changes to PLCs
  • Work with Siemens Motor Drives and Encoders
  • Design and install small-scale automation and control improvement projects

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with automation
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with robots
  • Experience with PLCs, preferably Siemens or Allen Bradley
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings
  • Familiarity with vision systems
  • Ability to work on live circuitry

Working Conditions:

  • Periodic lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Walking, squatting, crouching, turning, twisting, stretching, climbing steps, grabbing, pulling, pushing, and bending
  • Ability to move large and/or odd-shaped heavy objects
  • Hearing and color vision acuity for machine setup
