We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer to join our Sweaters division at IHL Group. This is an exciting opportunity to grow with a leading company in the fashion industry.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop technical packs for sweaters.
  • Create and manage technical packs throughout the development and production process.
  • Update measurements and respond to factory questions related to specifications.
  • Communicate daily with factories overseas to ensure smooth production.
  • Organize and lead cross-functional fit sessions to ensure product fit and delivery goals are met.
  • Influence changes as needed to ensure product fit and delivery goals can be successfully achieved in bulk production.
  • Record fit session comments and ensure a plan of action is in place, with clear understanding of sample statuses by cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical sweater experience in the women's apparel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of sweater construction, stitches, and yarns.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
  • Conduct clear and concise fit sessions (internally and with customer teams).
  • Strong understanding of garment engineering, sweater factory operations, and realistic timelines.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to change.
  • Proven ability to independently manage risk at all stages of product development.
  • Ability to manage and follow through with tasks from start to finish.
  • A trained eye for basic design aesthetic details.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Gmail, and Google Calendar.
  • Machine knitting programming experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
Job Logistics

Location: New York, NY - Midtown West

Schedule: We operate in-office Monday-Friday.

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000.
