Position Summary

Key Responsibilities:

The Animal Care Technician plays a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, focusing on the well-being of our patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing care, feeding, and medication to animals in our hospital and boarding areas.
  • Maintaining cleanliness through regular cleaning, laundry, and bathing of animals.
  • Walking dogs and ensuring they receive adequate exercise.
  • Restocking supplies and assisting with post-operative care.
  • Supporting veterinarians and staff during examinations and procedures.
  • Accurately documenting medications, dietary needs, behavior, and any concerns regarding the animals in our care.
  • Learning to clean and sterilize surgical instruments as needed.

Qualifications:

We seek candidates who possess:

  • Knowledge of effective cleaning and disinfection practices.
  • Understanding of proper animal restraint techniques.
  • Ability to proficiently use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks (handling large dogs, lifting supplies, etc.).
  • Compassionate approach to caring for sick, frightened, or injured animals.
  • Willingness to learn medication administration and recognize health issues.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
