Position Summary
Key Responsibilities:
The Animal Care Technician plays a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, focusing on the well-being of our patients. Responsibilities include:
- Providing care, feeding, and medication to animals in our hospital and boarding areas.
- Maintaining cleanliness through regular cleaning, laundry, and bathing of animals.
- Walking dogs and ensuring they receive adequate exercise.
- Restocking supplies and assisting with post-operative care.
- Supporting veterinarians and staff during examinations and procedures.
- Accurately documenting medications, dietary needs, behavior, and any concerns regarding the animals in our care.
- Learning to clean and sterilize surgical instruments as needed.
Qualifications:
We seek candidates who possess:
- Knowledge of effective cleaning and disinfection practices.
- Understanding of proper animal restraint techniques.
- Ability to proficiently use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks (handling large dogs, lifting supplies, etc.).
- Compassionate approach to caring for sick, frightened, or injured animals.
- Willingness to learn medication administration and recognize health issues.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
