Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Temple University Hospital. As a Traveling Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Review and Dispensing

You will be responsible for reviewing all medication orders received from Physicians and Physician Extenders, and dispensing medications after verifying that the drug, dose, frequency, and route of administration are appropriate.

Patient Safety and Well-being

You will review patient allergies, past medical history, drug interactions, and lab information to identify any potential clinical conflicts prior to dispensing medications.

Inventory Management

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring that medications are stored and handled properly.

Collaboration and Communication

You will work closely with the healthcare team to provide drug information support and collaborate on the planning of patient care.

Leadership and Supervision

You will oversee the work of pharmacy students and technicians in the preparation of medications, ensuring accuracy and safety in the medication use process.

Requirements
  • Education

A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution is required. A Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) is preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a hospital or advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) in a clinical setting is preferred.

Additional Requirements

All employees at Temple University Hospital are required to be vaccinated or have an agency-approved medical or religious exemption for COVID-19.
