Radiation Therapist

At Wooster Community Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team in a part-time capacity. The ideal candidate will have experience in radiation therapy and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Main Function: The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for performing treatment planning exams and therapeutic treatments on identified patient populations. They will work closely with Dosimetry, Medical Physics, and the Treating Radiation Oncologists to ensure accurate and safe treatment delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Identify the correct patient for treatment and evaluate physician orders for accuracy
• Perform complete and accurate radiation treatments
• Communicate clearly and concisely with patients and healthcare team members
• Maintain a safe and HIPAA-compliant environment for patients

Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Maintained BLS certification
• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Radiation Therapy Section)
• ODH License
• Proven clinical and didactic capabilities

Preferred Attributes:

• Basic computer skills with ability to navigate radiation therapy-specific systems
• 3 years previous experience in medical imaging

Other Requirements:

• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or airborne pathogens
• Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, turn, crouch, and bend as necessary
