About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Design Engineer Principal to join our team at HireRight. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of civil engineering projects, including land development and public works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of grading and public improvement plans from conceptual design to final documents to support residential, multi-family, and corporate campus development.
  • Prepare and process technical studies and site plans to obtain entitlements for land development projects.
  • Develop Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for public infrastructure improvement plans, such as street, sewer, and storm drains.
  • Conduct site assessments and perform engineering design studies, incorporating infrastructure requirements and potential regulatory issues.
  • Prepare and process regulatory plans.
  • Coordinate with Los Angeles and Ventura County Public Works to ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes and standards.
  • Perform constructability reviews and provide construction support services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent.
  • California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in land development and/or public works, or equivalent work experience of eight (8) years in the industry.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervising the work of engineers, designers, and other project support staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures in the Los Angeles area.
