Job Title: Childcare Assistant

Join Advocate Health as a Childcare Assistant and play a vital role in shaping the lives of young children. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that fosters the growth and development of children aged 6 weeks to 10 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Childcare and Education: Assist in planning and implementing activities, learning experiences, and observations to support the development of children. Provide input for daily activities and learning experiences, and assist in preparing and implementing curriculum activities.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Work cooperatively with the teaching team, administration, and other co-workers to create a positive and productive work environment.
  • Safety and Well-being: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of children at all times. Maintain a clean and organized environment, and adhere to Advocate's safety protocols and procedures.
  • Parent Communication: Assist in communicating daily with parents regarding their child's activities, interests, and progress. Create a welcoming and open atmosphere that promotes daily communication with staff and families.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with participants, competent interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, emotional maturity when working with children
Working Conditions:

The Childcare Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints. The ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance is required. The position requires flexibility, understanding, and patience, as well as the ability to work with children of varying ages and abilities.
