Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Kindred Healthcare. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care and assist with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality nursing care for maternal and newborn patients
  • Cooperate with other professional staff to provide services that reflect the caring philosophy of the hospital
  • Under the supervision of nursing staff, you will provide direct patient care and assist with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment

Requirements:

  • Current Texas RN license
  • Certifications required:
    • NRP (must obtain within 90 days from hire date)
    • ACLS (must obtain within 90 days from hire date)
    • BLS (must obtain within 60 days from hire date)
    • PALS (must obtain within 60 days from hire date)
    • AWHONN basic fetal heart monitoring (must obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • L&D Charge RNs require additional Training in: Handle with Care
  • Demonstrated competencies in the care of the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient and her newborn
  • Ability to function independently, and as part of a team
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, with ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to apply sound judgment with clinical skills for optimal patient care
  • Demonstrates flexibility by accepting and supporting changes in work assignments as related to department and patient needs
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
