Position SummaryThe Shift Leader is accountable for executing specific tasks and responsibilities within the restaurant, which include guest service, food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and fostering teamwork.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Shift Leader will ensure a swift service pace, address guest inquiries and concerns, and adhere to all safety and security protocols.
Additionally, they will:- Follow the guidelines set forth in the DHC Training Program to acquire new skills and responsibilities.
- Communicate with their direct supervisor when further training and support are required.
- Understand the impact of each job responsibility on guests, fellow employees, and overall restaurant operations.
- Welcome guests, take orders, and serve food and beverages with a consistently positive and helpful demeanor, including addressing questions.
- Collaborate with coworkers to prepare items on the DHC menu while adhering to cooking instructions, safety protocols, and sanitary standards.
- Utilize specific kitchen equipment such as ice cream dispensers, fryers, warmers, etc.
- Maintain restaurant cleanliness daily by clearing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, and sanitizing kitchen utensils and high-touch areas.
Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally and calmly to resolve issues in accordance with restaurant policy.
Professional AppearanceMaintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a uniform and adhering to the uniform policy.
Performance ExpectationsThe Shift Leader will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, interacting with guests and collaborating closely with other team members to complete tasks, while also performing other duties assigned by the restaurant management team.
Additional Expectations- Ensure compliance with company policies and directives.
- Support the goals and decisions of the restaurant management team.
- Contribute to the restaurant's success by consistently accomplishing expected work during each shift.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to resolve any interpersonal issues as necessary.
- Adhere to all company guidelines for food and cash controls, maintaining and minimizing restaurant costs.
- Current student or high school diploma/GED preferred.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude while performing all duties.
- Commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Effective communication skills with coworkers and management.
- Must have reliable transportation to work.
- Must have a telephone or other reliable method of communication with supervisors and coworkers.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
- This includes working weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary.
