Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team at TriCities Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize patient care based on acuity level and available resources, carry out physician orders, and assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and families, and provide support for new staff through mentoring and orientation.
Requirements
- One year of experience in Emergency services is preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
