Job Summary

The Strategic Project Director will play a pivotal leadership role in advancing The Hawk Group's project up the value chain. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this individual will oversee strategic planning, execution, and risk management of the project, ensuring timely delivery of all study element objectives within budget.

This position entails comprehensive project management responsibilities, including stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement within the project scope.

About The Role
  • Lead by example and provide guidance and feedback to team members, adhering to the highest safety and environmental standards.
  • Develop and manage work plans and budgets, as guided and approved by the Board and technical committee, with timely reporting and forecasting on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of project studies, encompassing mining and mineral processing options, hydrogeological and geotechnical studies, environmental assessments, Indigenous engagement, and governmental approvals required for development.
  • Ensure effective staffing and integrated project teams across disciplines.
  • Integrate strategic directives from the Board with operational realities, promoting business initiatives and effective project management practices.
  • Promote innovation and maximize the value of mineral resources.
  • Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, engage regularly with key partners, and enhance The Hawk Group's license to operate through community relations.
Requirements
  • 10-15 years of project leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Geology, or related discipline.
  • Substantial experience working in remote project settings.
  • Experience managing capital cost expenditures related to major projects.
  • Knowledge of pertinent Federal and Alaska State Laws and Regulations, as well as permitting processes.
  • Strong experience in managing key partner relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and written/oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering results.
Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
