SSM Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient examinations and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider.
- Interview patients, take vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and scheduling patients.
- Assist with ordering and stocking of supplies and perform basic materials management functions.
- Document patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, and follow-up instructions.
- Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- No prior experience necessary, but a strong desire to learn and grow in a healthcare setting is essential.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to communicate with patients and colleagues.
- Frequent use of vision to identify and distinguish colors and judge distances.
- Occasional lifting, bending, and reaching.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
- One of the following certifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), Medical Assistant (RMA), Medical Assistant Certification (MAC), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
