Job Summary

The Laborer position at Lake Assault Boats is an entry-level manufacturing role that supports the building process of aluminum boats for various customers. This position is designed to provide the candidate with the opportunity to learn the trades involved in boatbuilding and offers a pathway to pursuing a career in the boatbuilding trades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various physical duties as assigned by the site supervisor
  • Maintain all safety standards and protocols
  • Move, secure, install, build, load, or unload materials such as trash, steel, dirt, etc.
  • Perform specialized tasks that may require on-the-job training
  • Effectively use heavy and light equipment, depending on the job site or assignment
  • Move items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor
  • Support other positions such as welders and technicians in the boatbuilding process
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Follow directions and procedures under supervision
  • Conduct basic problem-solving skills under supervision
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors and managers
  • Adhere to all procedures and safe work practices
  • Effectively use hand and power tools
  • Knowledge in reading tape measures
  • Ability to manage one's own time by being punctual and completing duties in a given time frame
  • Ability to learn about and adapt to the boatbuilding industry
Qualifications
  • Applicants with prior experience are preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Physical Requirements

The position requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, as well as visual acuity. The candidate must be able to work in tight spaces and awkward positions for long periods of time. The ability to conduct inside and outside work in all temperatures is also required. Use of manufacturing equipment is necessary, and the candidate may work in areas that are not environmentally controlled. The ability to move, lift, pull, or push 50 pounds is also required. Additionally, the candidate may be required to get underway with high-speed watercraft in variable weather conditions.
