About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated LV/MV Switchgear Product Developer to join our team at Southern Company. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for developing and selling new product platforms and permutations that deliver competitive advantage in the market, meet financial/growth goals, and exceed customers' performance and quality expectations at or below target costs.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 4 years of combined work experience as a product engineer for another manufacturer, or other manufacturers, of UL 891 and UL 1558 LV and/or MV switchboard/switchgear. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, and EATON/ABB/Siemens and/or Schneider Electric's LV/MV pricing and configuration tools is desired. Familiarity with the UL safety standards for UL 891 LV switchboards and UL 1558 LV switchgear is also desired.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide technical and commercial leadership for the development and sale of new product platforms and permutations
* Collaborate with mechanical engineering to ensure compliance with UL 891/UL 1558 safety standard and UL 891/UL 1558 file
* Support Pricing by working with the Estimating Team to update and improve pricing tools used to price LV/MV solutions
* Process RFQs and negotiate pricing with LV/MV vendors
* Support Marketing by providing marketing and technical documents
