VAN/BUS DRIVER (PRN)
Description
Purpose:
As a VAN/BUS DRIVER with Power County Hospital District, you will be responsible for safely transporting nursing home residents, swing bed patients, and acute care patients to medical appointments and various activities and events. This is a part-time, as-needed position that requires a valid state-issued driver's license and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough vehicle safety checks before and after each use to ensure a safe transportation experience for patients.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents to the Maintenance Department immediately.
- Load patients/residents, secure seatbelts and wheelchair fasteners, and ensure all occupants are properly restrained prior to transport.
- Maintain regular vehicle maintenance and oil changes to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Successful completion of Department of Motor Vehicle license check and insurance coverage through the hospital district
- Ability to operate and load residents/patients in wheelchairs using vehicle lifts
- Dependability, personability, and courtesy
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written directions
