The Emily Couric Cancer Center Clinic is in search of a committed and empathetic Registered Nurse (RN) to enhance our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The RN will be responsible for supervising and engaging in the provision of exceptional patient care, ensuring compliance with established best practices and clinical guidelines. This position necessitates robust clinical expertise, outstanding communication skills, and a dedication to ongoing improvement and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Supervise and engage in the provision of patient care, ensuring compliance with best practices and clinical guidelines.
Coordinate patient care activities, encompassing assessments, treatments, and follow-ups.
Guarantee precise and timely documentation of patient care in line with organizational policies.
Address patient and family inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction.
Quality and Safety:

Foster a culture of safety and continuous enhancement within the clinic.
Monitor and assess clinical practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data collection efforts.
Collaboration and Communication:

Encourage effective communication and collaboration among the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and support staff.
Facilitate regular team meetings and discussions to address patient care, staffing, and other operational matters.
Act as a liaison between the clinic and other departments within the cancer center and the broader healthcare organization.
Ensure clear and open communication with patients and their families, providing education and support as necessary.
Professional Development:

Stay informed about advancements in oncology nursing and evidence-based practices.
Engage in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Encourage and support staff participation in continuing education and professional development activities.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Position Compensation Range: $36.00 Hourly

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Physical Demands:

This position requires standing for extended periods, frequent bending/stooping/traveling, proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull over 100lbs. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
