Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Support: Assist the Head of Compliance/Deputy General Counsel on company regulatory, compliance, and operational matters, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Project Management: Manage projects with external vendors and HR to configure and track employee trainings on compliance learning programs, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
- Regulatory Tracker Management: Responsible for uploading matters, key documents, and managing the docketing system in the Regulatory Tracker and related matter management system.
- Research and Drafting: Research, track, and draft regulatory responses, oversee audits and inquiries, and develop regulatory compliance checklists and workflows for licensing, surplus lines, fee agreements, and other compliance matters.
- Reporting and Analysis: Develop report templates and track KPIs regarding regulatory incidents, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
- Liaison and Support: Serve as a direct liaison to business units for general legal support and regulatory advice, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Record Retention and Training: Develop and maintain the record retention program and associated training, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Research and Coordination: Perform necessary research for legal matters and initiatives, coordinating with external legal counsel as required.
- Administrative Support: Provide other administrative support functions and occasional travel as necessary, ensuring the smooth operation of the Compliance and Legal department.
- Experience: 1-4 years of experience as an Attorney or Senior Paralegal, with regulatory/insurance experience preferred.
- Qualifications: Prior experience providing in-house legal support, paralegal certification or equivalent experience, and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Skills: Possess a strong working knowledge of contracts, transactional, and general corporate and business areas, with excellent research skills, communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work well with others and build effective team relationships.
Office work involves working at a desk most of the time, using a stand-up/sit-down adjustable desk. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Typing, grasping, and repetitive motion typically is required every day, and walking and standing are required occasionally.
