Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team at Hinderliter de Llamas & Associates. As a key member of our revenue recovery team, you will play a critical role in identifying opportunities for clients to recover lost revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Analysis: Independently analyze large datasets to identify discrepancies and opportunities for revenue recovery.
  • Data Verification: Verify the accuracy of California Department of Tax & Fee Administration (CDTFA) registration data to confirm that it accurately reflects where companies are operating and/or engaging in taxable sales activity.
  • Field Canvassing: Conduct field canvasses of commercial areas to obtain an accurate, real-time inventory of local business activity.
  • Documentation: Document research and findings within our proprietary software applications.
Requirements
  • Strong Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify relevant trends, anomalies, and opportunities within large datasets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Focus and Determination: Ability to review large volumes of data and meet or exceed weekly productivity targets with minimal supervision.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use a variety of software programs, including HdL sales and property tax applications.
  • Reliable Transportation: Clean DMV, reliable car, and current proof of insurance.
  • Positive Attitude and Strong Work Ethic: Commitment to team and company-wide goals and objectives.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
