- Environmental Modifications: Identify and remove potentially harmful and triggering environmental features that may impact patient well-being.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing high levels of distress, using de-escalation techniques and medication as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately record patients' health journeys and report notable alterations to healthcare teams, ensuring continuity of care.
- Psychoeducation: Conduct targeted psychoeducation sessions with patients and their families, promoting understanding and empowerment.
- Current RN licensure and certification in psychiatric nursing
- Experience working in psychiatric settings, preferably with adult or geriatric populations
- Strong assessment and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records
