Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' psychiatric states to identify their needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare teams to develop and implement psychiatric intervention plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Medication Management: Administer psychotropic and similar medications as prescribed, monitoring patients' responses and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Treatment Adherence: Monitor patients' adherence to non-medicinal treatment regimens, providing education and support to promote healthy behaviors.
  • Environmental Modifications: Identify and remove potentially harmful and triggering environmental features that may impact patient well-being.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing high levels of distress, using de-escalation techniques and medication as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately record patients' health journeys and report notable alterations to healthcare teams, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Psychoeducation: Conduct targeted psychoeducation sessions with patients and their families, promoting understanding and empowerment.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure and certification in psychiatric nursing
  • Experience working in psychiatric settings, preferably with adult or geriatric populations
  • Strong assessment and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records
