About the Role

This is an engineering position for the Industrial Products corporate team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating automation opportunities and directing project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or assist two or more simultaneous projects.
  • Flexible short-term business trips as well as longer-term implementations.
  • Own responsibility for technical project leadership as directed.
  • Gain new knowledge of automation technology and solutions.
  • In conjunction with senior staff, use engineering knowledge to architect automation solutions.
  • Spearhead technology research to deliver state-of-the-art processes and design concepts.
  • Work across multiple facilities with separate stakeholder teams and processes.
  • Work with project managers to set and manage goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Communicate project status to management.
  • Build payback models and assist in writing capital requests.
  • Use existing Marmon automation implementation process to guide your workflow.
  • Update and improve Marmon processes as you learn.
  • Attend trade shows and vendor visits to become a rounded industry expert on current state-of-the-art technologies and implementation strategies.
  • Hands-on prototyping of technologies in the Marmon automation lab as project required.
Requirements
  • Project management/operations experience.
  • Prior work experience in operations project management, automation project management, or similar areas - including intern or co-op assignments - desirable.
  • Comfortable in ambiguous situations where requirements may be unclear.
  • Comfortable in factory environments.
  • Shop Floor experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles.
  • 50% travel, domestic.
  • Communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
