Position Summary:
The Warehouse Material Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting production staff by managing the receipt, distribution, and precise tracking of inventory within vertical storage systems and on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role but are not exhaustive:
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
- Utilize the Q.A.D. system for all inventory transactions.
- Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels for vertical storage units (VSU) and report any discrepancies to the Team Leader.
- Gather all non-floor stock components from the VSU for work orders, including printing necessary labels.
- Receive hardware into the VSU, ensuring proper placement according to size, type, style, color, and product code.
- Collaborate with the Team Leader or Crew Leader regarding work orders and ensure timely delivery of hardware in the correct sequence for production staff.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by properly back flushing work orders with the correct material quantities and part numbers.
- Employ fork trucks, carts, and other approved methods to transport materials between departments.
- Conduct cycle counts on products and materials.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills are required.
- A minimum of 1 year of forklift operation experience.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the English language.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent use of hands associated with tool operation.
- Agility of upper and lower body extremities, including the ability to reach, crouch, kneel, or stoop.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
