Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our cardiovascular department, you will be responsible for providing professional, highly technical nursing care to all cardiovascular patients, while assisting physicians during all cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures
  • Participate in in-services, continuing education, and workshops to remain abreast of new procedures and current technologies
  • Accountable for the maintenance of quality control in all areas of the lab
  • Provide a secure and safe environment for patients and staff, maintaining constant awareness of safety hazards
  • Assist with new staff orientation within the department
  • Act as a role model within the department, serving as a resource person for all clinical activities
  • Assist in the development of new operating procedures
Requirements
  • Typically requires 2 years of cardiac cath lab experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in PTCA, EPS preferred, with an AAS in RTR, or RTN license
  • Minimum of 12 CEU hours per year
  • Ability to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to anticipate patient and unit needs
  • Ability to teach procedures to the staff
  • Current License in the state of IL as a RTR, RTN, or RCVT
  • ACLS, IABP, RCIS within two years of employment
