Job Title: Employment Trainer

Join the Yurok Tribe as an Employment Trainer and play a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve their career goals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing training programs that cater to the diverse needs of our community.

Job Summary:

The Employment Trainer will work closely with our Family Advocates, family members, and youth to conduct assessments, develop family empowerment plans, and provide training and support to help individuals achieve their goals. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Family Advocates and other stakeholders to conduct assessments and develop family empowerment plans.
  • Provide training and support to help individuals achieve their career goals, including job readiness, communication, and life skills.
  • Assist families and youth in fulfilling their family empowerment plans, including work participation hours and volunteer opportunities.
  • Document all contact with program participants in our database.
  • Facilitate wraparound services for identified families and provide referrals for further evaluation and treatment of mental health, substance abuse, and family violence challenges.
  • Develop and implement training manuals and materials for staff and client training.
  • Provide transparent services and open communication to program participants, explaining program regulations, rules, and policies.
  • Consult with administrators and staff to acquire program knowledge and work-related activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and conduct professional behavior and communication with participants and co-workers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED with three years of specified experience.
  • Knowledge of Yurok culture and ability to operate intermediate computer software programs.
  • Good writing skills and dependable work history and attendance record.
  • Ability to travel within designated service areas and develop training and training plans.
