Overview of Responsibilities
• Tasked with the maintenance and calibration of measurement and testing instruments and standards.
• Responsible for keeping precise records of calibration activities and services rendered.
Core Responsibilities
• Develops and oversees the measurement and testing equipment program.
• Provides insights and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and compliance of the metrology program with regulatory standards.
• Formulates and executes troubleshooting strategies to advance the metrology program.
• Adheres strictly to established protocols, prioritizes safety, and participates in relevant metrology training sessions.
• Follows ALARA principles and complies with radiation safety policies.
Educational and Experience Requirements
• Associate degree in physical sciences or metrology, or equivalent experience in Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL).
• Minimum of five years of experience in measurement and calibration practices.
Additional Qualifications
• Flexibility to work assigned shifts.
• Proficient in computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.
• Familiarity with various testing methodologies and techniques is essential.
• Understanding of basic electronic and mechanical principles.
• Experience with Fluke METCAL software is preferred.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IEEE498, ANSIN45.2, and 10CFR50 Appendix is advantageous.
• Ability to lift and transport precision tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
