Key Responsibilities- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on vehicles and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnostic and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex issues with vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Inspections and Certifications: Conduct annual inspections and certifications on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain and repair tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Documentation: Accurately document all work performed on work orders and maintain accurate records.
- Education: Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training and a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
- Certifications: Annual Inspector Certification, Brake Inspector Certification, and ASE certifications (Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks).
The Diesel Fleet Technician II will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to mechanical parts, tools, and equipment. The position requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and be exposed to extreme temperatures.
