Position Overview:
The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in safeguarding information systems by conducting comprehensive security engineering activities. This role emphasizes the entire lifecycle of existing systems while also focusing on the identification of future requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze information security requirements, ensuring their seamless integration into information systems through strategic security architecture, design, and configuration.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement organizational information systems utilizing automation techniques.
- Employ industry best practices to incorporate security requirements within information systems, including software engineering methodologies and secure coding techniques.

Essential Functions:
- Support all Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities in alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) policies and directives.
- Assist in the creation and review of documentation related to the Authorization to Operate (ATO) and other security-related processes.
- Provide expert analysis of architecture documentation and risk mitigation strategies to support RMF authorization processes.

Technical Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in platforms such as Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Conduct thorough security assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and address potential risks.
- Develop and maintain security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with established standards.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in information security engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework and Special Access Programs (SAP).
- Must possess a Top Secret clearance and meet DoD 8750 requirements.

Preferred Skills:
- CISSP certification and familiarity with DevOps practices are highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
