Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Plant Technician to join our team at PacifiCorp. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all steam electric generating plant mechanical systems and associated auxiliary systems and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Repair, troubleshoot, overhaul, and maintain equipment such as turbines, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, condensers, scrubber, coal pulverizing system, coal and ash handling equipment, and all other associated systems and equipment.
  • Perform millwright functions in setting up, aligning, balancing, and testing various machinery and equipment.
  • Work with precision tools and instruments within close tolerances to maintain precision alignment and balance which is critical for maximum life and performance of machinery and equipment.
Requirements
  • Applicant must have at least 3 years of journeyman experience in the following areas: machine, pipe fitting, welding, hydraulics, pump repair, and industrial mechanics.
  • Applicant must have the following academic requirements:
    • Welding and related subjects - 18 semester hours / 27 quarter hours.
    • Machine shop and related subjects - 18 semester hours / 27 quarter hours.
    • Industrial mechanics - 6 semester hours / 9 quarter hours.
    • Trade math or equivalent - 6 semester hours / 9 quarter hours.
