- Perform thorough evaluations of system security plans to ensure they incorporate adequate security measures for information systems that align with specified security criteria.
- Execute in-depth reviews of the management, operational, and technical security measures implemented within or associated with an information system to assess the overall efficacy of these measures.
- Guarantee adherence to security configurations for IT systems and assist in establishing clear and concise protocols for the application and enforcement of system security configurations.
- Facilitate the risk management process by assisting in the identification and assignment of risk impact ratings in accordance with Information Assurance for Information Security Officers (ISSO) standards, and contribute to the development and upkeep of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for IT systems recognized in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and annual security evaluations of IT systems.
- Deliver evaluations of the severity of vulnerabilities or deficiencies identified in the information system and its operational environment, and propose corrective measures to mitigate recognized risks, while preparing security assessment reports that encapsulate the outcomes and findings from system security evaluations.
- Exhibit multi-tasking capabilities, managing various projects and serving as a consultant for other application development personnel to ensure compliance with ISSO standards. Act as the primary liaison and technical advisor to clients and application developers to provide established ISSO standards throughout and following the software development lifecycle and project management lifecycle.
- Possess extensive knowledge of the U.S. Government Information Assurance Security Processes.
- Familiarity with the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Security Readiness Review (SRR) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Information Assurance policies, procedures, and processes is also preferred.
- Hands-on experience and at least one of the following professional certifications: Security+, CISSP, CISA, GSEC, or GSLC & OS Certificates are preferred.
- Familiarity with FISMA processes, NIST guidance, and experience in drafting security controls.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Top Secret/SCI and/or Poly
