Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for assisting in the admission process, answering client questions, and helping clients adjust to the program routine. You will serve as a liaison between clients and staff, reporting any changes in clients' physical or mental condition. Your primary focus will be on supervising clients, emphasizing their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the admission process, including new client admissions and orientation procedures.
  • Record inventory logs of personal belongings, valuables, and return tickets, storing them in a secure location.
  • Facilitate orientation groups with clients, ensuring they understand program expectations.
  • Complete required lab requisitions according to protocol.
  • Monitor clients' whereabouts at all times, maintaining their safety and security.
  • De-escalate conflicts and problems with clients, promoting a calm and respectful environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, staying informed about program developments and client needs.
  • Provide liaison services between staff and other technicians to ensure clients' needs are met.
  • Supervise mealtime, including servers and clean-up crew, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure proper disposal of garbage after meals.
  • Monitor group rooms for cleanliness after activities.
  • Hand over necessary information to the evening technician and staff, maintaining a logbook for continuity of care.
  • Participate in required staff training (minimum 20 hours).
  • Supervise clients completing the program, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Remind clients of program rules and regulations as needed, reporting infractions appropriately.
  • Provide emotional support to clients, referring them to therapy staff for clinical issues.
  • Complete assigned paperwork accurately and timely.
  • File incident reports according to policy, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Communicate with staff as necessary to promote quality client care.
  • Maintain clean, properly supplied, and efficient work areas.
  • Collect UA screens according to protocol.
  • Report safety and maintenance issues.
  • Interact with clients in a respectful manner, maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Exercise sound professional judgment, seeking assistance when necessary to manage client behavior.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:
