About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our team at The Colwell Law Group. As a Law Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in various tasks related to family and matrimonial law cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive research on relevant laws, statutes, regulations, and case precedents pertaining to family and matrimonial law issues.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, petitions, agreements, and correspondence related to family law cases.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and answer inquiries regarding legal procedures and documentation.
  • Organize and manage case files, including maintaining electronic and physical documents, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with other staff members to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Provide support during court proceedings, such as attending hearings and trials, taking notes, and assisting attorneys with case presentations.
Requirements
  • Possess experience litigating family and matrimonial actions in the New York court system.
  • Meticulous in a fast-paced law office and court setting.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and flexibility.
  • Ability to be both a team leader and a collaborator and an invaluable resource to the legal team.
