Key Responsibilities

The Nutritional Services Cook plays a vital role in ensuring that each resident receives nutritious and appealing meals as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and serving meals while adhering to portion control guidelines.
  • Ensuring all food items are properly thawed and stored.
  • Reviewing daily menus and coordinating with the Food Service Supervisor.
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Documenting food temperatures and maintaining food safety protocols.
  • Communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Knowledge of large-scale cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of portion control and quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with dietary modifications and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Proficiency in reading and following instructions.
