The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering holistic patient care by addressing the medical, emotional, and practical needs of individuals with spinal cord injuries.
- Patient Assessment: Evaluate patient requirements and formulate a detailed care strategy.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient information in the medical records system.
- Medication Management: Administer medications, including intravenous therapies and PICC line management.
- Patient Coordination: Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges effectively.
- Clinical Assessments: Conduct vital signs monitoring, EKGs, and wound care.
- Advanced Care: Provide tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator support as needed.
- Patient Education: Inform patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
- Emergency Response: Act promptly in emergency medical situations and cardiac arrests.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support other nursing personnel.
- Patient Safety: Ensure patient safety through ongoing protective observation.
- Compliance: Adhere to VA guidelines and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active RN License in any state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent certification.
- At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse specializing in spinal cord care.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Special Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Experience with ventilators is preferred.
- Ability to obtain VA Public Trust Clearance.
Work Schedule:
- Day Shift (7:30 am - 8:00 pm) and Night Shift (7:30 pm - 8:00 am), including weekends and holidays.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of $66,560 - $148,000.
