KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Cover local school board and city council meetings to report on significant educational issues.
- Conduct thorough research and utilize data visualization techniques to enhance storytelling.
- Write for professional publications, showcasing your ability to engage readers.
- Produce a minimum of 10 articles weekly, maintaining a steady flow of content.
- Be available during weekdays and occasionally on evenings/weekends to cover essential events and breaking news.
- Conduct in-person interviews with sources across the metropolitan area.
- Build and maintain relationships with key sources across various sectors.
- Capture compelling photographs to accompany your written pieces.
- Exhibit proficiency in AP Style and familiarity with content management systems.
- Demonstrate effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Proactively identify and pitch story ideas with minimal oversight.
- Competitive starting hourly wage of $21.64 ($45,000 annually) or higher based on experience.
- Monthly stipend of $135 for travel-related expenses.
