Medical Technologist Job Opportunity at LabCorp
We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at LabCorp. As a Medical Technologist, you will work in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment, utilizing your technical expertise to analyze and process laboratory samples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform automated and manual testing, as well as instrument maintenance, to ensure accurate and efficient results.
- Work efficiently and accurately in a busy environment, adapting to changes and priorities as needed.
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Demonstrate technical decision-making skills regarding testing and problem-solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls, and report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary, and assist with specimen processing when needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a life science or laboratory science/Medical Technology.
- 1 year of previous experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Must be ASCP certified as a Medical Technologist or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
