Job Overview

At Children's Land, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute Teacher to join our team. This role is a substitute floating teacher position, rotating as needed across our locations in Wheeling, Glenview, and Lincolnshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic classroom environment to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and cooperative working environment.
  • Adhere to all DCFS licensing rules and regulations, as well as Children's Land policies and procedures.
  • Provide active supervision and focused attention for the children in care.
  • Use best judgment to act in the best interests of the children at all times.
  • Respond promptly to each individual child's needs.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and orderly environment that promotes active learning.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with infants to young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Patience and a genuine love for working with young children.
