About the Job

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic II to join our team. As a Technician at Penske, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Repair and troubleshoot components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials.
  • Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs.
  • Learn new skills through Penske's technician training program.
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.

Work Environment

The associate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement of large trucks through the workplace. The associate must be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment.

Physical Requirements

The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.

Shift Differentials

Second shift start times after 11am are eligible for $1.50 per hour shift differential. Third shift start time after 9pm are eligible for $2.00 per hour shift differential.
