Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain working areas and washrooms, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors.
  • Operate powered scrubbing and waxing machines to maintain floor surfaces.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners.
  • Dust furniture and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings, to maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Empty wastebaskets and cleaning ashtrays to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Transport trash, waste, and other refuse to disposal areas.
  • Clean restrooms' fixtures, floors, walls, and replenish supplies to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Work collaboratively with a positive team spirit to produce high-quality work.
  • Follow safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of equipment and other activities.
  • Report any maintenance issues or damage to the immediate supervisor.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment from the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least six (6) months of custodial experience.
  • Ability to carry out simple but detailed oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact effectively with co-workers with disabilities.
  • Valid and insurable driver's license.
