Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High School Pastor to join our team at Mount Zion Baptist Church. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of high school ministry and a passion for serving students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide high school students in their spiritual journey, delivering impactful and relevant biblical messages tailored to their needs.
  • Foster a personal relationship with God through encouragement and support, enhancing our program with engaging services, on-campus Bible studies, sharing groups, and fellowship events.
  • Implement a metric-based system to support and guide students as they grow in their faith, representing our church by serving on various committees within the denomination and community organizations.
  • Create and manage engaging social media content, ensuring active communication with teams, participants, and members.
  • Mentor and disciple teens individually or in small groups, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to apply their faith in daily life.
  • Build a welcoming and inclusive space where local youth can connect and thrive, planning and promoting engaging social events, outings, and community service activities.
  • Cultivate a keen sense of belonging and community within the church, creating service and mission projects that inspire youth to grow in their service to the Lord.
  • Keep parents informed and involved through regular communications and parent groups, attending and supporting local high school and homeschool events to foster relationships within the education community.
  • Develop strategies for disciplining youth within the local community who may not be affiliated with the church, engaging in evangelistic efforts to share the Christian faith with non-believing youth.
  • Plan and coordinate camps, conferences, retreats, and trips, collaborating with other church leaders to ensure a comprehensive approach to ministry.
  • Preserve the culture of the program by encouraging teamwork and mutual support, providing leadership and nurturing members who work in the department.
  • Meet regularly with leadership for team building and planning purposes, overseeing the budget and resources dedicated to the Youth Ministry (Teens).
  • Set and achieve goals by prioritizing programs, managing facility use, planning budgets, delegating tasks, and regularly evaluating progress.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, membership, and program participation, utilizing church systems and databases for tracking metrics, registrations, attendance, and student information.
  • Function as a liaison between our Bishop and the high school students of the church, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
