The EDM Technician I role is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn and develop foundational skills in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) operations. In this capacity, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various EDM machinery to produce precision components under the guidance of more experienced technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire knowledge on the setup and operation of computerized EDM machines following established protocols.
- Learn to adjust machine parameters, including feed rates and tool changes, in accordance with EDM specifications.
- Develop the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Understand and apply quality assurance testing methods, including the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Accurately complete production records and perform necessary labor documentation.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and continuous improvement standards as directed by your supervisor.
- Participate actively in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Be prepared to work over 40 hours per week as required to meet operational needs.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned, including potential overtime and non-standard hours.

Required Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; alternatively, two years of relevant experience may be considered.

- A background in manufacturing is advantageous.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform assembly and calibration tasks.
- Capacity to learn and understand technical drawings within the first three months of employment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management.
