Position Summary

77 Consultants is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to deliver both fundamental and advanced respiratory care services across various clinical environments. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in a hospital setting, demonstrate a compassionate demeanor, and exhibit a strong ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, gather, and analyze pertinent clinical information regarding patients.
  • Administer both basic and advanced therapeutic interventions tailored to the patient population.
  • Communicate modifications in the Respiratory Care strategy with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients, trainees, and fellow staff members.
  • Conduct essential and advanced diagnostic procedures, including arterial puncture, blood gas assessments, and pulmonary function tests.
  • Execute emergency and acute respiratory care protocols in alignment with established guidelines and departmental policies.
  • Engage actively in departmental and hospital-wide performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform quality assurance checks on respiratory care apparatus.
  • Maintain clinical and professional proficiency according to recognized standards of practice.
  • Deliver oxygen therapy services in compliance with departmental regulations.
  • Support patient resuscitation efforts during emergency situations.
  • Collaborate closely with Certified Respiratory Therapists, offering assistance and guidance as necessary.
  • Manage departmental documentation, including logs, charges, and electronic records.
  • Document all clinical activities within hospital provider systems.
  • Assist and mentor Respiratory Care Assistants and Students in their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Licensure Requirements:

  • Must be licensed by the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the NBRC is required.

Certifications:

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are preferred.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Registered Respiratory Therapist status.
  2. Minimum of an Associate's degree.
  3. At least one year of relevant experience.
  4. Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  2. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  3. 3-5 years of clinical experience.
