PMA Sales Representative Job Description

The role of a PMA Sales Representative at Johnson Controls involves promoting and selling service agreements for commercial building systems, including fire alarms and security systems.

This position requires developing sales strategies, conducting building surveys, and building long-term customer relationships to meet sales objectives.

Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and previous sales experience in a related field are essential qualities for the ideal candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers of service contracts by scheduling sales calls, following up on leads, and utilizing outlined marketing strategies.
  • Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of company service offerings.
  • Closely monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as necessary to meet sales plan objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all sales-related activities.
  • Submit timely and accurate sales reports, expenses, competitive activity, and correspondence.
  • Develop and maintain positive ongoing relationships with customers to ensure that Johnson Controls meets their requirements and fosters long-term loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the service department to generate leads for service or equipment/device upgrades.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • An ability to work a full-time schedule.
  • Availability for local travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to persuade and close sales.
  • The capacity to handle a variety of situations encountered during the sales process.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years of sales experience in a related field with a proven successful record of accomplishment.
